Our brewing recommendation

It is seriously clever! It combines the best of 2 brewing styles, the consistency of a French Press with the clarity and cleanliness from the drip filter method.

What do you need for a perfect coffee extraction? 

 Water, coffee, clever dripper, grinder, digital scale, kettle, paper filter and a spoon.

How to make a great cup of specialty coffee:

FILTER PAPER

This is the Filtropa Clever dripper filter, we recommend the use of the bleached ones because the bleaching process won’t add any flavors to your drink.

STEP ONE

Fold the filter along the seams at the bottom.

STEP TWO

Then fold the side seam as well.

STEP THREE

Preheat your clever dripper, place it on a server, open the valve and rinse through the paper filter.

STEP FOUR

Close the valve placing it on a scale, tare it, and pour in 300ml of water to 93°.

STEP FIVE

Start a timer, put your coffee in the water and give it a stir to break up any clumps.

STEP SIX

Put on the lid and let it steep for 2,5 minutes.

STEP EIGHT

Open the lid, stir it one more time.

STEP NINE

Place your Clever dripper on a server. Let it drip.

STEP TEN

Gently pour and enjoy!

The absolute crème de la crème of water treatment systems in coffee applications currently has to be reverse osmosis (R.O.). Traditional reverse osmosis systems use an extremely fine membrane to basically strip everything out of the water, leaving you with no hard minerals at all. However some new R.O. systems designed especially for the coffee market feature special blending valves allowing you to blend a variable amount of water that has bypassed the R.O. membrane back into your feed water giving you total control over the exact mineral content.
